For buyers

Will I get hit with import fees?

For most US–Canada shipments, no. Orders $800 or less generally ship duty-free under current de minimis thresholds, and gifts under $100 USD are typically duty-free as well. Items made in Canada, USA, or Mexico (with correct customs documentation) usually qualify for tariff-free treatment under USMCA. Higher-value orders over $800 might incur import fees — check with your country's customs for specifics. Every shipment from SCRAPD has correct customs documentation so there are no surprises at your door.

How does shipping work?

Each creator handles their own shipping and chooses their carrier. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout — the creator sets their own rates. Most pieces ship within 5 days of order. You'll get tracking information in your order confirmation email and can follow it from your SCRAPD orders page.

What if my piece isn't what I expected?

First, message the creator — most issues get sorted directly within 48 hours. If something can't be resolved, escalate to us at [email protected] and we'll mediate within 24 hours.

Note that upcycled and vintage pieces have natural wear and unique character — that's the point. Read the listing carefully and check the photos before you order. Returns are at the creator's discretion unless an item is significantly different from what was described.

When will SCRAPD open to buyers?

We're in private beta with our first 30 founding creators. Buyers can join the waitlist now — we'll email you the moment we're live with stock you can shop.

How do I know creators are real and not dropshippers?

Every creator goes through a manual 72-hour review where Sherry herself looks at their work, their links, and their answers. Dropshippers, fast-fashion resellers, AI-generated listings, and anyone selling stock from a warehouse they've never been to are rejected.

If a listing slips through that doesn't fit, message us — we take down listings and ban repeat offenders.

For creators

How does the 5% Founding Creator rate work?

The first 50 creators we approve get a 5% commission rate, locked in for life. After the founding 50, the standard rate is higher — but whatever rate you're approved at is yours forever. No teaser pricing, no “we'll review it later.” The day-one deal is the deal you keep.

When and how do I get paid?

Payouts go through Stripe Connect (you'll connect your Stripe account during onboarding). After a buyer's order is marked delivered, your earnings (sale price minus your commission rate) move from pending to your Stripe balance.

Stripe pays out to your bank on its standard schedule — typically every 2–7 days depending on country and account history. You can see your balance and payout history any time in your Stripe dashboard.

What can I sell? What can't I?

We accept upcycled, hand-altered, reworked, and handmade goods — fashion, home, and creative materials. Patchwork, dyed, mended, embroidered, deconstructed, hand-built. Vintage is fine if you've materially transformed it.

We do not accept fast-fashion resale, dropshipped goods, counterfeits, AI-generated product photos, or anything you didn't make or substantially alter yourself.

What's the 72-hour review?

When you apply, Sherry personally looks at your application within three days. She checks your work, your links, your answers, and decides yes or no. If it's a yes, you'll get an email with next steps. If it's a no, you'll get an email explaining why — no silent rejections.

We say no to a lot of applications. That's the curation moat.

What happens if a buyer has a problem with my listing?

The buyer messages you first. You have 48 hours to respond and try to resolve it (a refund, a replacement, a clarifying note). If it can't be resolved between you, the buyer escalates to SCRAPD admin and we mediate within 24 hours.

We don't side blindly with either party — we look at the listing, the messages, the photos, and the chargeback history. Refunds and chargebacks come out of your seller balance.
