The Pear Fair
The 15th annual Pear Fair brings 45+ indie handmade vendors, live vinyl sets, a record swap, and food trucks to College Hill from 11am to 5pm.
The 2026 Pear Fair is happening Saturday Sept.26th. Forty-Five plus local and regional indie handmade craft and design vendors will be selling their creations at an open air market on College Hill from 11am to 5pm in the “G” lot at the corner of College & 22nd streets. The Pear Fair is a curated showcase of the very best in local and regional handmade craft and design.
Pear Fair brings a wide variety of handmade goods. “This is our 15th Pear Fair and we’ve seen everything from handmade natural soaps and body scrubs, beautiful paintings and prints, ceramics, knitted scarves and hats, handmade jewelry, and so much more.” said Mohair Pear owner Barb Schilf.
Throughout the day DJ Pals will be spinning vinyl and once again ZZZ Records of Des Moines will host a Vinyl Record Swap on site. La Calle Food Truck will be on site offering Latin American Cuisine.
Mohair Pear & The Pear Fair History:
In 1995 a line of hand-sewn repurposed vintage apparel by a local Cedar Falls girl started a handmade tradition at Mohair Pear which opened on College Hill in 1994. Other longtime handmade favorites, Queen Bee Creations(since ’96) from Portland OR, and Raygun(since 2005) out of Des Moines, IA are a big part of the boutique’s 22 year history.
“Our customers loved the handmade items and always asked about the people who created them. That got me thinking that a fair would be a great way to introduce these artists to them” explained Schilf. “It’s also been a great way for me to discover new and unique crafters and artists from Iowa and the Midwest each year.”
The Fifteenth annual Pear Fair open air indie craft fair will be held Saturday, September 26th, from 11:00am to 5:00pm, on the corner of 22nd and College Streets, in "Cedar Falls Municipal Lot G," right next door to Octopus.
