Terms of Service
Last Updated: May 2026
1. Welcome to SCRAPD
By using SCRAPD, you agree to these Terms of Service. SCRAPD is a curated marketplace for upcycled, handmade, and reworked goods - clothing, decor, leatherwork, crochet, footwear, anything craft-driven. We exist to connect makers, menders, and rule-breakers with the people who actually want what they make.
2. User Accounts & Storefront Review
Users are entirely responsible for their own accounts, including maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials. SCRAPD retains the right to suspend or ban any user account at any time, with or without notice, if these terms are violated.
Anyone may sign up and begin building a draft storefront. To list publicly, the storefront must be submitted for review and approved. SCRAPD’s admin reviews submitted storefronts within 72 hours, verifying that the brand and proposed listings align with our handmade-only standards. Approved storefronts go live; declined storefronts receive a written reason and may be edited and resubmitted.
3. Strict Content Policy
SCRAPD is a marketplace for real artists and makers. Upcycled, handmade, and original. No mass production.Nothing on SCRAPD comes from a factory — every piece has a story, reimagined or created by hand.
We are strictly against fast fashion and mass-produced goods. We exclusively accept:
- Upcycled, repurposed, and reimagined garments.
- Hand-altered, hand-painted, or reconstructed pieces.
- One-of-one creations and small-batch handmade items.
- Authentic vintage pieces that have been creatively altered or refurbished.
Prohibited Items: The sale of counterfeit goods, stolen items, unsafe materials, and illegal items is strictly prohibited. Listings found to be dropshipped, fast fashion, misleadingly labeled, or violating our prohibited items policy will be removed immediately. Repeat offenses will result in an immediate and permanent ban from the marketplace.
4. Platform Fees & Featured Causes
SCRAPD charges a flat commission on all sales to maintain platform operations, server costs, and marketing efforts. We do not collect or process donations through the platform. Our Giving Back page features causes we admire - visitors who choose to support these causes do so directly with the organization, and SCRAPD has no involvement in those transactions, no record of them, and makes no representation about tax-deductibility.
Payment Processing Disclaimer: All payments are processed through secure third-party providers (Stripe). SCRAPD does not store your full payment information and is not responsible or liable for any payment processing errors, unauthorized transactions, or delays caused by these third-party services.
5. Buying, Selling & Disputes
Marketplace Role Disclaimer: SCRAPD is a platform that connects buyers and creators. We do not own, inspect, or guarantee any items listed on the marketplace. Transactions are strictly between the buyer and the creator.
Sellers are entirely responsible for accurately describing items, shipping them within the mutually agreed timeframe, ensuring successful delivery, and providing accurate tracking information to the buyer. Buyers are expected to review item photos and descriptions carefully, acknowledging that upcycled and vintage garments inherently show signs of prior wear and distress.
International shipping & customs. SCRAPD does not provide shipping. Sellers choose whether to ship internationally and select their own carrier. For international orders, the buyer is responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, or other charges levied by the destination country. SCRAPD does not collect, calculate, or remit those charges and is not liable for packages held, returned, or destroyed by customs authorities.
Returns Policy: All sales are final unless otherwise stated by the seller in their profile or listing. In the event of a dispute, SCRAPD may offer mediation services, but we do not accept returns on behalf of sellers or issue refunds out of pocket unless a transaction is deemed fraudulent or inherently dangerous.
6. Sales Tax & Marketplace Facilitator
6.1 Marketplace Facilitator Role.SCRAPD operates as a marketplace platform that enables independent sellers (“Creators”) to list and sell goods to buyers. In jurisdictions where applicable law designates SCRAPD as a “marketplace facilitator,” SCRAPD is responsible for calculating, collecting, and remitting applicable sales taxes on behalf of Creators.
6.2 Sales Tax Collection. Sales tax will be automatically calculated and added to orders where required by law, based on factors including but not limited to:
- Buyer location
- Shipping destination
- Applicable state and local tax laws
The amount of tax collected will be displayed to the buyer at checkout.
6.3 Tax Remittance. Where SCRAPD is required to act as a marketplace facilitator, SCRAPD will remit collected sales taxes to the appropriate tax authorities. Creators authorize SCRAPD to collect and remit such taxes on their behalf.
6.4 Creator Responsibilities. Creators acknowledge and agree that SCRAPD will handle sales tax collection and remittance in jurisdictions where marketplace facilitator laws apply. Creators are responsible for determining and fulfilling any tax obligations not covered by marketplace facilitator laws, including but not limited to:
- Income taxes
- Self-employment taxes
- Taxes in jurisdictions where SCRAPD is not required to collect sales tax
SCRAPD does not provide tax advice, and Creators are encouraged to consult a qualified tax professional regarding their individual obligations.
6.5 No Tax Advice. All tax-related information provided by SCRAPD is for general informational purposes only and should not be construed as legal or tax advice.
6.6 Buyer Acknowledgment. Buyers agree to pay all applicable taxes associated with their purchases. These taxes are determined based on applicable laws and are collected at checkout where required.
6.7 Changes in Tax Laws. Tax laws and regulations may change over time. SCRAPD reserves the right to update its tax collection practices as necessary to remain compliant with applicable laws.
7. Intellectual Property
You own everything you upload - photos, graphics, brand assets, the work itself. By posting on SCRAPD you give us a non-exclusive license to display and promote it. That’s it. We never resell your work, never license it out, never use it to train anything.
