Payouts
When and how you get paid as a creator.
The payout timeline at a glance
- Buyer pays
- Funds settle to the SCRAPD platform balance
- You ship the order and mark it shipped with tracking
- Buyer marks the order received (or it auto-delivers 7 days after you mark it shipped)
- A 10-day payout hold starts
- About 10 days after delivery: SCRAPD releases your payout to your Stripe account
- Stripe pays your bank on your Stripe Connect payout schedule
Total time from sale to bank: shipping time + the 10-day hold + however long your Stripe Connect payout schedule takes to reach your bank. Your Stripe Express dashboard shows each payout to your bank.
Why a hold at all?
The hold protects both sides. While it runs, the funds are still on our platform, so if a buyer reports a problem SCRAPD can sort it out, and refund the buyer if needed, before the money leaves. If the buyer opens a card dispute with their bank during the hold, your payout is paused while the dispute is open. It is released if the dispute is decided in your favour, it is not paid if the dispute is lost, and SCRAPD reviews any other outcome by hand. Otherwise the payout releases automatically.
Refunds and chargebacks
If an order is refunded before your payout is released, your payout is reduced to reflect the refund (SCRAPD calculates the adjustment), or cancelled if the order is fully refunded. If an order is refunded, or a chargeback is lost, after your payout has been sent, SCRAPD may reverse the transfer to your Stripe account to recover your share of the refunded or disputed amount, plus any Stripe dispute fee.
How much you receive
Your commission rate is locked when your storefront is approved. Your payout is the item price minus our commission, plus the shipping you charged the buyer in full. Commission applies to the item price only. SCRAPD pays Stripe’s processing fee; it is not taken out of your payout.
Where to see your payouts
Open your dashboard, then Payouts. You will see:
- In escrow - paid by the buyer, awaiting delivery
- Upcoming - delivered, in the 10-day hold
- Released - paid out to your Stripe account
